The Niwot High School Education Foundation distributes its funding through a variety of grants.  Teachers at NHS apply for Major Grants and Mini Grants throughout the school year to help fund items such as educational activities, equipment, computer hardware and software, and field trips.

The amount of a Major Grant to be awarded per proposal is between $600.00 to $2,500.00. The total school year major-grant fund is set by the NHSEF Board and is based on donations. The maximum award amount for a Mini Grant is $599.

- Sight Reading Factory

- Color Guard & Drumline Instructor

- stationary bikes for the weight room

- de-airing pug mill for the ceramics department

- yoga mats for the yoga and nutrition classes 

- college kickstart software program for the counseling department

Minor Grants awarded in 2025/26

- alternative seating options for social studies classroom

- transportation for various field trips like Denver Public Library to expand student's research skills and the Stock Market Challenge

- Curriculum support for African American History

- Physical classroom copies of The Poisonwood Bible for AP Literature Class, "Garden of English" -Language support for AP English Class Newzbrain

- Current Events Game for social studies department

- Colorado Social Studies Conference

- Physical copies of AP literature novels for students to annotate

- Registration for the Skyline Jazz Fest for our jazz band

-Classroom sets of dictionaries and thesauruses for English classes
