Fellowship Grant
Guidelines
Eligibility
The following are eligible for consideration for fellowship grants:
- Students attending state or national conferences or competitions.
- Teachers attending state or national conferences, seminars, or workshops.
- School-sponsored or approved group student trips, i.e. Marine Ecology; Close Up.
- The event or activity must be curricular or co-curricular in nature. Fellowship funding at all levels is limited specifically to registration fees and materials. Athletic events or activities shall not be considered.
Allocation of $1,500 Authorization for Fellowships
Up to $1,500 in Fellowship funds will be disbursed per school year, with $750 allocated to the first semester and $750 to the second semester.
Applications
Applications shall be on forms provided by the Board. In the case of group requests, the application shall be submitted by the teacher or leader of the group. The application shall include information on the event or activity for which funding is requested, the expenses to be paid or for which reimbursement is sought, the efforts made by the applicant to obtain funding from other sources, and the reasons why the Board should consider the request, i.e. the anticipated benefit to the applicant/group and/or the school. In addition, the applicant shall agree to provide a short written statement to the Board after returning from the event in question, describing the benefits received from participation. Such benefits do not necessarily have to be specifically related to the event itself.Teachers applying on behalf of student groups are encouraged to have a few of the students submit the statements.
Timing of Applications
Applications for grants in the first semester will be accepted after the beginning of the school year, and applications for grants in the second semester will be accepted at the beginning of the second semester. An application shall be considered active only during the semester in which it is submitted. Requests must be submitted according to the Fellowship Application deadlines posted by the Board.Amount

Student grants shall be limited to
$100, teacher grants to $200, and group grants to$300.
Types of expenses eligible for funding
All grants shall be limited to registration fees and materials. Teacher & staff grants cannot be funded if college credit or credit toward a step pay increase will beearned.
Board Action on Applications
The Board shall fund all qualified applications at the first meeting of the semester. Any funds remaining shall be carried forward from month to month until funds for the semester have been exhausted. Any unallocated first semester funds shall be carried forward to the second semester. Any funds unallocated after the last meeting of the school year shall not carry forward to the following school year. In the event that funds are insufficient to pay the full amount requested in all qualified applications considered at any given meeting, the funds will be prorated between the applicants.Submit Proposals via Email to:
